A PROCLAMATION OF HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS

Psalm 50:6 "And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for God himself is judge."
It's hard to imagine a righteous God when bad things are happening all over the world. I try to imagine what was going on in the minds of our people as they kept seeing one band after another band being conquered by the United States Army and being thrown onto reservations that could not even sustain animal life. As they saw their children starve and die of diseases that we had no immunity for. I try to imagine how they felt as they saw loved ones die, and the land they loved so dearly disappear from their hands forever. I wonder how their faith continued in a God that maybe they felt had abandoned them. I wonder where their faith in God the Creator went to. I know that at one point Geronimo looked to some of his men and said that the God of the Whites was more powerful than their God since He had allowed all this to happen.
Most of us say we have faith in God. Most of us would say that our faith would not waver. But the real test of our faith is not what comes out of our mouth when all is going well, but what comes out of our heart when our world seems to be falling apart. That is where our faith in God is shown, and the reality of the words we repeat and say we believe about God are revealed. David said, "And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for God himself is judge." The Creation understands the concept of God and His righteous acts better than mankind which was created in the image of God the Creator. The Creation understands that the acts of God are righteous because God is righteous in all He does. The Creation has a better understanding of a God who is not only a righteous God but in view of His righteousness, He is also a God of justice who judges every aspect of man and his creation. What kind of God do you love? What kind of God do you worship? What kind of God do you claim to know and honor? In all that God is, just remember that God is righteous in all He does, whether the situation is to our favor or not.
