WHEN THE WORDS WILL NOT COME OUT by Robert Soto

WHEN THE WORDS WILL NOT COME OUT by Robert Soto

Romans 8:26 "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express."

There are times in our lives when life seems so difficult that one does not know how to even pray. You know the need and you understand that it is important and you know what you should be praying for, but when you open your mouth or heart or thoughts, everything seems blank. I have been there plenty of times in my life. When life does not seem fair and you look at the circumstances around you and, short of a miracle, there is no way to even begin to tell God what you need or desire of Him. So what do you do when that happens? How should you react or respond to God the Creator when words cannot begin to share the feelings in your heart or mind? Would God the Creator be so useless and uncaring that He would not be able to help in such circumstances?

Well, God the Creator does care and God the Creator does know and He has provided a way to help us when we are faced with such a thing as a hopeless and desperate situation. Paul wrote, "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express." When you know you should pray but you cannot, just look to the heavens and let the Spirit of God the Creator take over. He knows your heart and He knows your soul and He knows your intentions. When you can't speak, He takes over and intercedes on your behalf and gives the words to God the Creator that you cannot speak. I left the bed of a dying friend today, and I found it hard to pray. So tonight, heavenly Father, I ask that Your Spirit hear my heart and my soul and my thoughts, and intercede on my behalf the words I cannot express.
