EX 33:14 The LORD replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."

There is nothing better in life then to give the body a little rest. I am not saying I am getting old, but I am getting older and it seems like what I used to do is becoming a little hard now as I start getting older. The last four days have been filled with excitement as I have performed and spoken eight times in four days. It is a lot of work, but at the same time it is a blessing that I can do what I do. It is a blessing to see the eyes of those you are speaking and dancing for. It is exciting to see that what you are saying is making sense in the hearts of the listeners. But as always the various joints and muscles tell me to take a little time to relax and get ready for the next move in my life. My feet tell me it is time to rest. My arms tell me it is time to rest. My back tells me it is time to rest. My head and eyes tell me it is time to rest. So I sit here on a cold winter's day in Michigan catching up with the rest I need to keep on doing what I love to do best--speak and dance.

But their is a greater rest for us then just sitting around relaxing. It is the spiritual rest we get when we know that God the Creator is right here with us. It is the rest we get with the knowledge that God the Creator is holding us by the hand and leading us on. It is the rest we feel within our hearts when we feel we can not go one more step, yet God the Creator tells us to keep on going. It was Moses who wrote, "The LORD replied, 'My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." Moses saw the impossibility and God, knowing his heart, told him not to worry that He, and He alone, would get him through the conflict. Sometimes renewed strength comes to us just having the knowledge that God the Creator is right here with us as we travel along the journey He has placed before us.
