I Timothy 2:19 "Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."

I remember once hearing someone say, "When I get to heaven and see God I will ask Him why He allowed this to happen?" It seems like a lot of us want answers from God when it comes to our lives. A lot of us question His sovereignty when it comes to things that happen in our lives. Our response and communication to God the Creator depends not on our desire to want to know Him better but because things are not going the way we think they should. Many of us give up our faith in Him based on His goodness - or what we think is His lack of goodness in our lives. The problem is that we see God as we want to see God and not for who He really is, the Creator of the Universe and everything we see and do not see. He is the one who created every aspect of who we are. Every minute detail of who you are, including when you would be born and when you would die was placed in your DNA when God the Creator put you together and gave you that first breath as a little baby.

So how should we see God when our life does not reflect the perfection we demand of Him according to our efforts? Well, one thing is that He is still God and He knows you and His plan for your life. Paul said, "Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness." Regardless of what this world brings our way, God's solid foundation stands firm. It does not mean our foundation, but His foundation. So if this stands true, regardless of whether our foundation stands or not, we can always jump ship and land on His solid, unmovable foundation. Not only does His foundation stand solid and firm, but He knows who are His so that in knowing, He allows the things of this world to affect us so that we can learn to depend on Him who is unmovable. I might not understand what is happening to me today, but I can understand that whatever is happening in our lives, He knows.
