ANOTHER JOURNEY TO START TOGETHER by Robert Soto
January 1, 2010
Jeremiah 30:2 "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you."
It seems like only yesterday I sat in front of my computer and wrote my first Words From the Creator. It was something I had prayed about for three years or so. Each year I decided I would start in November and have at least two months written in advance. Unfortunately, it hasn't ever happened that way. So there I sat by my computer exactly two years ago as I started writing my very first daily devotional. At that time I had a mailing list of about 100 people that I thought would be interested in reading what I had to say. Today we estimate it is going to at least 6,000 readers. It is even going into New Zealand and Australia. It is going all over Europe and being received by people in all fifty states. I have gotten notes from hundreds of you and for me it is a true honor that you would take the time to share with me how you are being blessed by what I write.
Yet as I sit here ready to start another year, I can't help but praise God the Creator for giving me the wisdom and understanding to write day by day for the last seven hundred and thirty one days. That includes Leap Year when February has 29 days. For, each time I really had nothing to say, so I would just start writing and ask God the Creator to move my fingers and heart to put down the right words. Then I would pray each time I pushed the word "send" that what I wrote would truly bless someone in this world. I want the words I write to be an encouragement to all who read them. I want people to know that my God and Creator is alive as He was before among our people. That the words will bring us to a better understanding about the works of God in our lives and to encourage us to keep on going. This is what God the Creator told Jeremiah to do as his people were coming out of captivity. He said, "Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you." And so I sit before my computer one more time and pray for the next three hundred and sixty five days to see what God the Creator has for both you and me through this journey of faith. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
