Psalm 139:7-8 "Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?" If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there."

Last night I had the strangest dream. I dreamed I was hiding from three dinosaurs. I was hiding behind some small trees with someone. The dinosaurs could smell our presence. We kept hiding and as they went past us we kept going around the tree to keep ourselves from being seen by our predators. Finally, they passed us and left us alone but we still stayed behind the trees. The person who was with me said, "Do you think they are gone?" I said yes and we walked away. Next to the trees where we were hiding was another set of smaller bushes. As we walked off, we saw some creatures hiding behind those smaller bushes and we heard one say, "Are they gone?" The second creature said, "Yes, they're gone now." As they walked away, there were some smaller shrubs and as the second creatures left, a small voice said, "Do you think they're gone?" Next to the feet of those creature were some smaller weeds and as the fourth creatures left, a small voice said, "Do you think they're gone?" This went on and on as I started to wake up.

As I dwelt on the dream this morning I kept asking myself, "What do you think all this meant?" I really don't know if God was specifically speaking to me through the dream but the more I thought about it the more one verse kept coming to mind. Each creature was trying to hide from their troubles and had to patiently wait for their troubles to go away. In many ways, that is the way we treat God. We try to hide from Him and His desires for us but He always seems to find out where we are. It seems like we can never hide from His presence and every time we don't want Him around, He is there. It was David who once wrote, "Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?" If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there." He is everywhere we go and no matter how big or small, we can never hide from God.
