GOD WILL NEVER FORGET by Robert Soto

GOD WILL NEVER FORGET by Robert Soto

Psalm 37:9 "For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land."

I just returned from seeing Avatar for the second time since it came out. I normally do not go to a theater twice to see the same movie but I was asked by my sons to join them so I went. The theme seems to follow the history of our Indian people. You have an indigenous group who live over a mineral needed by another supposedly more civilized people. The theme basically shows us what one group will do to get what the other has, regardless of what it takes. We had the land and the outsiders wanted the land. So the last five hundred and seventeen years has been a history of taking that which we had and others wanted. Americans called it Manifest Destiny which mostly meant that it was God's will for one to take and God's will for the other to lose.

But the question I have asked for years about the issue of Manifest Destiny is, when does the will of one person overshadow the will of another? For us, it was God's will that we keep the land that others were saying it was God's will for them to take. So when does one's will bow down to another? The thing we need to remember is that God will never forget. People might forget and history might try to sweep it under the mat, but God will never forget. David wrote, "For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land." God will never forget and God the Creator will intervene, one way or the other. One way or the other those who do evil in the land will hear from God the Creator for their wrongdoing.
