MEN WHO DREAM by Robert Soto

I Timothy 3:4 "He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect."
Today I got the chance to travel three hours north to meet with a bunch of men from the tribe. For some reason there were no women except one that went with our group. But at the gathering there were about twenty-five men who met by a lake on a nice cool day and just walked around and talked. We talked about the future of the Tribe. We talked about our families. We talked about the old days. We talked about doing what is right to make a difference among our people and among the people of the nations and among our country. We talked about our faith and the wrong that was done - and in many ways continues to happen, among our Indian people. There were questions asked and answers given. Each one listened to what others had to day. When the tribal chairman ask to bless the food a young man volunteered and gave a prayer that really hit the heart.
At first I was a little disappointed that there were no women or children. But the more I stood and listened the more I decided that this was God the Creator's eternal plan for a whole bunch of men who desire to be leaders - not just among our people, but leaders among their families. It was then that I realized that these were just men who as a whole just desire to do what God the Creator wants them to do, to be leaders and teachers among their families and friends. Paul told Timothy that men who desire to be leaders need to know how to lead their families. He said, "He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect." As I sat down and listened to their dreams and hopes, I realized that these were just men who, with God the Creator's help, just want to make a difference in this world.
